I am married to Jason and we have three children,
Rebecca, who is 12 years old, Noah, who is 7 years old and Jack, who is 3 years
old. I also have two dogs, Max and Hunter.
My Education and Career
was a North Carolina Teaching fellow and earned my BS in Elementary Education
from East Carolina University
in 2003. After student teaching kindergarten at Fremont Stars
Elementary, I began my teaching career at B.F. Grady Elementary. I started
teaching 3rd-8th remediation in math and reading followed by a year of teaching
fourth grade. Once I moved to Mount Olive, I transferred to Carver Elementary
where I taught kindergarten for three years and loved every minute of it. In
June of 2008, I moved to the Pikeville area (hopefully the last
move for a long time) and to Rosewood. At Rosewood, I taught 3rd grade in
2008-2010. Now, I am back teaching kindergarten. I am currently enrolled in
ECU's MSA program and will graduate in May 2015.
